Remembering Juhkari Sutherland ~ (11-7-2006 - 31-12-2024) ~

**Update: Juhkari was taken off life support and passed away shortly after 4pm, December 31, 2024.

Hello friends and family, our family has experienced a very difficult situation over the Christmas holiday. My sister's 18 year old son, Juhkari, complained of stomach ache on Christmas and by Saturday December 28 he was hospitalized and in the ICU on full life support. Doctors advised he had contracted meningitis and it could happen to anybody without much warning. This has all unfolded rapidly since Saturday night. After many delays with flights, his parents and a few other family members were able to fly out to be with him. Unfortunately, the hospital advised that they would like to take him off life support and will no longer be performing any life saving measures. At the current moment we’re asking for any donations that can help. If he passes today, along with normal funeral costs, there will be additional travel and transport costs as we will have to transport his body him back home to Ontario.

We are still in the midst of processing. I've set up this GoFundMe on my sister's behalf as she is a single mother and would greatly appreciate the help that would come from your support.

Never thought we'd ever have to do something like this but understand that none of us are exempt from the trials and heartaches that life brings.

The bible tells us to rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn (Romans 12:15), and, Blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted (Matthew 5:4). As we mourn together may we all remember that God is a good and sovereign God. May we all seek to know and trust Him each day as we journey through all that life brings.
