Church Building Project

Background.

Oromo immigrants, 7 adults and 2 children, from the Oromia Region came together to pray and worship God the Almighty in their native language, Afaan Oromoo, the most spoken language in East Africa in the basement of one of the households as a Fellowship in 2001.
This fellowship became a registered religious organization/church in 2004 in Province of Alberta, Canada and started meeting at “Foothills Lutheran Church” for Sunday services. The OECC obtained legal entity as a Charitable Organization, committed to the true teaching and authority of the Scripture and become a full member of Lutheran Church of Canada, Alberta British Colombia District. The OECC continues in growing numerically with new members, including refugees sponsored by the church from different parts of the world, joining the church as well as the ministry of the church is being enlarged where the demand for sizeable church building is inevitable to accommodate the whole ministries of the church. Despite the plan to purchase a building had been on the table for a while, the current Church administration elders had established an Ad hoc Committee called “Fund Raising and Church Building Purchase Committee” with the TOR to facilitate the overall activities of project implementation. Accordingly, the committee prepared the proposal/project idea to purchase the Church building.

The Church has currently 334 members, 215 adults and 119 children. The Church is providing spiritual and holistic ministries like sponsoring refugees. As a result of this, it demands dedicated offices to facilitate the services efficiently.

Any contribution matters. Please donate and let's lay a foundation for a generation who serves God the Almighty.
