Ju'Landa's Journey

Hi, I'm Jojo, and Ju'Landa (Juju) is my sister. On March 24th, she received news nobody wants to hear. She was diagnosed with cancer. If that wasn't bad enough, it's one of the rarest cancers someone in her demographic could be diagnosed with. Malignant Pleural Mesothelioma. A rare lung cancer that one acquires only after being exposed to asbestos. The last few weeks have been a veritable mix of shock, anxiety, numbness and mountains of information. She's had to travel to another city in order to seek a second opinion from the one oncologist in her state (Florida) who specializes in this particular type of cancer. As of now, she'll need to begin chemo treatments while in the process of likely having to travel back and forth between providers. It is possible she'll need come to Boston, as it was recommended by the second provider to seek an opinion from the oncologist who is #1 in the U.S. for mesothelioma. None of this can be accomplished without financial assistance. Her insurance will only cover so much, and there may come a point during this journey where she may not be able to work for a while. So on behalf of her and everything she has ahead of her, I am reaching out for financial assistance to help her make this critical time for her as stressless as possible.
