Julia Baciu Memorial Scholarship at York U

My name is Cristian Baciu and Julia was my beautiful sister who lost her life at the hands of an impaired driver in August of 2018 in Richmond Hill, ON at the age of 21. Julia was a brilliant young woman with a passion for international languages. She dedicated her young adult life to learning and teaching multiple languages to others while completing her concurrent education degree at York University Glendon Campus in Toronto. The campus' beautiful rose garden now has a bench built in Julia's honour (pictured below), as well as an annual scholarship. Two deserving students have already received $1000 each for their hard work in learning international languages, and a third student has already been selected for this year's award. We are trying to raise enough funds for the scholarship to guarantee that a deserving student receives an award every year in Julia's memory for the university's lifetime.
