Butler Family Memorial Scholarship

Hello everyone my name is Corey Butler.  It is with a sad heart that I write this on behalf of my recently and dearly departed brother Julian Lenal Butler.  For obvious reasons, he was affectionately known as Red.

My brother Julian passed away suddenly on November 13, 2016; just 4 days after celebrating his 38th birthday.  He was a loving and devoted father of 6 beautiful children ages 3 to 16.  He also leaves behind his loving wife Christina of 17 years.  Julian's family meant the world to him and we will miss him dearly.

In addition to his family, Julian also mentored many troubled and at-risk youth through his career as a family psychologist.   Julian and Christina also served as youth ministers at Harvest Christian Center Chicago.  My brother was a blessing to his community and this was a calling that he honored each and every day until his last.

In an effort to provide for the education of my brother's children, I along with family and friends have created this gofundme campaign to fund the Julian Butler Family Memorial Scholarship. Your generous donations will help to provide college scholarships and other necessities for the family that Julian was forced to leave behind.  

The fundraising period for this campaign will officially last for 90 days, however efforts will continue to provide for my brother's family as his children grow and enter college.  

My brother's reason for living was to make sure that his children had every opportunity to better themselves through education.  Although resources were tight, Julian saved for his kid's education.  Your participation in this fundraiser will help ensure that my brother's wishes for his children will become reality even though he won't have the privilege to see it himself.
