Julia's Battle: Illness and Eviction
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Julia, and I’m reaching out in a time of desperate need. Eight years ago, my life changed forever when I was diagnosed with a rare and debilitating illness called Neuromyelitis Optica (NMO). This condition has left me unable to work, derailing my dreams of becoming a graphic designer.
Living with NMO has been a constant battle, not just with the illness itself but also with accessing adequate healthcare. I’ve faced numerous obstacles trying to get the treatments and support I desperately need, often falling through the cracks of a complex and inadequate system. As a result, I’ve developed severe dental infections that are not only incredibly painful but also pose serious risks to my overall health. Despite my efforts, I’ve been unable to afford the care required to address these issues.
Now, I’m facing even greater challenges. My 72-year-old father and I are on the brink of losing our mobile home in the middle of winter. We’ve fallen behind on rent and have been actively threatened with being evicted.
We have no meaningful financial support and nowhere else to turn. My mother passed away last year from brain cancer. My father has been my rock and joy, helping me through years of illness despite his own age and limitations. We’ve fought hard to stay afloat, but the weight of these hardships has become too much to bear on our own.
I’m humbly asking for help to cover our rent, address my urgent dental issues, and give us a chance to breathe and rebuild. Every dollar donated will go directly toward keeping a roof over our heads, covering medical needs, and helping us navigate this incredibly tough time.
Your kindness and generosity would mean the world to us. If you’re unable to donate, sharing our story would be a tremendous help. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for considering supporting us in our hour of need.
- Cost Breakdown:
- $1250 - Current and Back rent
- $1500 - Teeth Removal
