Julia’s fundraiser for National Kidney Foundation

On the 14th of April 2024 I will running the Reading half marathon for the National Kidney Foundation in aid of my late uncle and others who are faced with kidney complications.

10% of the population worldwide is affected by chronic kidney disease, whether this being able to access the treatment or not knowing enough about it, and millions die each year including my uncle, who sadly passed away towards the end of last year.

The NKF is a small but highly effective national charity, established forty years ago and still unique in several ways. They are the only UK support organisation run by kidney patients for kidney patients; we provide the only national Helpline dedicated solely to renal patients, their families and carers; and are the UK's largest producer and distributor of kidney related medical information leaflets. Right across the UK we currently support 2 million kidney patients.

Was hoping to run with my mum, as she has already ran ten half marathons (3 being in reading!), but due to health precaution’s she won’t be partaking, so also doing this for her!
