Julie Compton (Houser) Memorial Relief Fund

On Sunday, May 30th, we suddenly and unexpectedly lost our dear sister in-law Julie “Julz” Compton (Houser). This is the second loss this family has suffered, also losing their son/brother Jordan shortly after birth. It has been a heartbreaking and challenging couple of weeks as we've started to determine how we can best help our brother Steve and their three boys Michael, Hunter and Daniel. Many family and friends have asked how they can help so we decided to create this GoFundMe as a way for others to provide support for Steve and his boys.
Steve has been the sole financial provider for his family and, due to his work schedule, Julie has been the main caregiver for their boys. Steve’s job requires him to leave the house at 2am and not return home until 2pm. He will need to leave his current job and transition to the role of single parent. As the sole provider for a family of 5, he unfortunately doesn't have the savings to cover these unexpected expenses. In addition, we learned that the specific life insurance policy they have had since 2009 will not cover this, and there is no insurance assistance available for Steve and his kids.
We are asking for help to cover immediate financial needs during this transition to help Steve and the boys stay afloat and build a plan for the future. Specifically, here’s what the funds they receive will cover:
- Funeral Expenses
- Funds to cover the family expenses during this transition period until Steve can find something that works with the caregiving he will need to provide
- Counseling and care costs for the boys and Steve
- Any additional funds received will be used to ensure the kids have a stable and positive future as they move forward without their Mom
Thank you for helping this family we love so much who have found themselves in not only an emotionally devastating situation but also a dire financial situation due to this loss.
