Julie Howard's Recovery
Our mother, Julie Howard, was attacked while finishing an evening walk, with a friend on the Ventura Pier. Around 8:15pm on 8/25/21 a man swung a tire iron at our mom's face, causing her great bodily harm. The attack was unprovoked and unexpected. She suffered an orbital fracture, one missing tooth and one fractured tooth, an arterial bleed, and multiple large lacerations. She has a long road ahead of her and will undergo a tooth extraction and bone grafts tomorrow morning to start her implant process.
Julie is a mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She is an extremely determined and hard working woman who recently retired, in June, from the Santa Barbara Unified School District. She is also well known in our community as a ride share driver and food delivery person.
These funds will be used towards dental and medical bills. Thank you for your support. Any additional funds will be used directly for improving the safety of our community.
Warmly,
Sara and Jessica
