Julie Luna and Son - Fire Relief Fund

Hello, Friends. My name is Mara, and I have started this fundraiser for my dear friend Julie and her son Tim. On Friday, December 9th, they lost their home to a fire.

Julie was home from work on Friday, preparing to go to a family funeral, when she said it seemed like a surge protector next to her son's desk simply exploded. She attempted to stifle the flames, but they swiftly grew out of control and she was forced to flee. The fire department arrived within 15 minutes, but by then the house was engulfed and they lost everything...most devastating of all, their beloved family cat, who was a hider by nature.

Their home has officially been declared a total loss. Every stitch of clothing, family memories, computers, every treasured comfort...gone.

Julie is a music journalist and lost the collection of a lifetime, including artwork and rare and test pressings of her favorite artists. She is also the copywriter for my indie perfume house, and lost a collection representing almost 20 years of hard work and love. As the last of their family line, their home was the repository for irreplaceable old-world family heirlooms.

Her son Tim is a college student living at home, and lost his computer, school books, all of his work, as well as every personal item.

Funds raised will be used to replace needed essentials and help rebuild their lives - clothing, hygiene products, medicine, and whatever else they may need. The Red Cross has provided a few dollars for clothing and temporary shelter, but they are currently homeless and in need of everything from hygiene supplies to bedding. Any assistance you can provide is incredibly appreciated. Fires are always tragic, but even more so during the holiday season. Please help this family recover from this tragedy. Thank you so much.
