Julie Mamula’s Recovery

Greetings Friends & Family,

As many of you already know, in April of 2022 Julie was diagnosed with two brain tumours; a Schwannoma and a Meningioma. This past December, after her annual follow-up appointment in Calgary, her Doctor determined that the best course of action was to remove these tumours through surgery. On January 24, 2024, Julie underwent the surgery to remove the tumours. Unfortunately, the surgeons were only able to remove one of the two, and have scheduled a second surgery for April 10, 2024.

Due to this unexpected second surgery, Julie is not permitted to go back to work until the end of September 2024 in order to allow her time to fully recover. Being away from work for this period of time and relying on a single income, has placed an unforeseen financial pressure on Julie and her family. In order to ease the strain of the year ahead, we humbly ask that you consider donating to the Mamula family. For those of you that don’t know Julie, she’s a devoted mother to two amazing children and a loving wife to a hard-working husband named Mike. She is also an incredibly thoughtful and caring sister and daughter, and a compassionate friend to many. Julie teaches ESL in Lethbridge and takes immense pride in the progress of her students and making them feel welcome. She’s incredibly selfless and is a shining light in the lives of the people around her. Those closest to Julie have no doubt that she will recover stronger than ever, and are in awe of her positivity and grace throughout this trying time.
