Julie Schunck's 4 Wheeler Accident
Donation protected
On the night of Daylight Savings Julie’s world changed when her Four Wheeler Collided with a deer
Julie and Mitch Brown were on their Four Wheeler around dusk, with Julie driving when a deer jumped out and was lodged in between the wheel and the bumper jamming the handle bars.
Julie was thrown into the air and the four wheeler landed on top of her legs. She was knocked uncon-scious and suffered a broken tibia and fibula in her left leg and a broken femur and shattered knee cap in her right leg.
The ambulance took her to the nearest local hospital where after evaluation it was determined that she needed emergency surgery and would have to be life flighted to Eau Claire, WI to Sacred Heart Hospital.
She suffered a concussion and had to have staples in her head to close up the large gash. Three days and three blood transfusions later Julie was able to have her 2nd surgery to put the pins and rods in her legs. Julie is currently residing in an assisted living home due to still being in a wheelchair and not being able to even wash her hair without assistance. If you know Julie, you know how independent, fun, outgoing and full of life she normally is. Asking for help is not something she would ever do so we are asking as her family for any support you may be able to spare. She is a single mother and a school teacher that is currently facing many rehabilitation appointments and trying to retro fit her house for the wheelchair she will likely need for weeks to come.
We have started the “Julie Nielsen–Schunck Fund” in an effort to try and minimize the financial set back while she is also dealing with all of the emotional side affects of this horrible accident.
