Julie Smith's Brain Tumor Medical Expenses
Donation protected
Have you been touched by the hands of the Smith family in one way or another? Perhaps it was a time of intercessory prayer. Perhaps it was a meal or a check for groceries. Perhaps it was helping you wash dishes when you least expected it. Perhaps it was an eager listening ear and soothing, loving advice. Perhaps it was painting your house or fixing the rotting deck. You know how giving this whole family is – one that always goes the extra mile when they didn't even have gas to get there! They now need our help.
Last week Julie was informed that she has a benign Meningioma which measures about 7cm. in diameter on her brain. That is huge (the size of a small grapefruit)!!
Currently, they are struggling to figure out insurance. They are insured by a healthcare sharing ministry, which makes them a cash pay patient. Hospitals are balking at that idea and require cash upfront since there is no insurance company to pay a claim. Medical expenses could be as little at $50,000 and possibly run as high as $200,000. That would bankrupt the average family!
The financial goal of this fundraiser will most likely grow as we are given the bigger picture of her medical costs and needs. Funds are needed right away so that surgery can be scheduled.
Surgery, Dr's appointments, travel, hospital stays, recovery, etc. are going to be quite costly for her diagnosis, let alone the loss of work for both her and Kevin during this time.
Let's pull together and help this incredibly giving, loving family.
The family is asking first and foremost for prayer for healing (rather that is through modern medical science or through the miraculous work of the Lord).
Secondly, they are asking for prayer that insurance dealings get worked out and God provides financially for all of Julie's treatments.
