Julie and her son Sven were in a car accident on Saturday September 9, 2017.

Sven was released with minor cuts, bruises and a concussion, however Julie needed a life flight to Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George, Utah.

She was in surgery for over 10 hours to repair a laceration to her ear, a bruised lung and 2 cervical fractures. She suffered a fracture to her C5 and C6 vertabrae and has permanently lost the feeling in both legs.

Julie is such a strong and beautiful woman, the most amazing wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend. Her career as an educator has enriched the lives of many students, parents and colleagues. We are so gratefull that she is still with us and feel extremely blessed that her and Sven survived.

Her husband Gary, their son Sven and lots of extended family are with her now and she is receiving excellent medical care and lots of love. The faith and prayers of all who know Julie would be greatly appreciated at this time and as she continues to recover.

In the next few months medical expenses will be very costly. These include on the short term; ICU costs, accute in-patient rehabilitation and physical therapy along with travel and transfer expenses for Julie when she is stable enough.

There will be continued long term expenses; Specialized therapies for medical needs and physical limitations; Training and equipment for personal care, accommodations including a wheelchair, handicap accessible vehicle and home.
