Julie Keller with Medical expenses
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Tricia and I am the mother of Julie. On November 20, 2022, my daughter, son-in-law and two of my grandkids were in a rollover vehicle crash in northern Wisconsin due to icy road conditions. My grandkids and son-in-law have recovered from their injuries. My daughter has been left with head trauma injuries that have caused her to not be able to walk without assistance and affecting her speech. Julie had been working full-time as a Jailer before this. She had been struck by an inmate causing a head concussion. Due to her work injury, she had been off on FMLA and workers' compensation. She was just approved to return to work part-time a couple of weeks before the vehicle accident. Due to being off from the previous injury, she will lose her insurance coverage through work. This is why we are looking for some help. Julie will need to pay for her family's health insurance premiums in full and deductibles. As we all know insurance premiums are expensive. Due to the crash-related injuries, Julie has speech therapy, occupational therapy and physical therapy at least once a week each to help her recover. She has many medical appointments and tests coming which she cannot do if she loses her insurance. She does not qualify for Badger Care. If Julie attempts to pay Cobra payments or buys off of the Health Marketplace the amount of out of pocket is more than she can afford and continue to pay for housing, utilities and general living expenses. Julie currently needs home assistive devices to help her with day-to-day living.
Any donation is greatly appreciated. Julie is currently at home. She is wheelchair-bound when alone. Our family have all taken turns being with her as much as possible as well as getting her and her children to and from appointments. Ultimately, Julie’s goal is to get the medical help she needs to make a full recovery so she can return to work full-time as a Jailer.
