Help Julie Wolfe BEAT cancer

Donation protected
On behalf of my friend, Julie Wolfe, I am reaching out for support.

Let me tell you a bit about Julie. Can you remember the first time you left your child with someone else? How you were probably full of anxiety about it, hopeful that your child — whether an itty bitty baby or a runny nosed toddler — was going to be ok and that you had picked just the right person to leave them with?

For a lot of people in Cape May County, that just right person, that person you could rely on to Band-aid a boo boo, comfort a naptime nightmare, or help your baby make their first friends, was Julie Wolfe.

Julie, for many people, is as much a part of the family as a beloved great aunt or a favorite cousin. She’s been the backup mom to hundreds of kids across our area, comforting both them and the dozens and dozens of parents who have relied upon her to be the parent when they can’t. She’s been there for so many of us — now it’s time for us to be there for her.

Julie and her family have been handed a double whammy. Four months ago, she was diagnosed with stage four rectal cancer that’s spread to her liver and uterus. This is after her husband (Chris) was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease in early 2022 that resulted in him receiving a double lung transplant. He’s just come home from the hospital and rehabilitation, but pretty obviously, the family has had more than their fair share of difficulties the past few years.

In between undergoing chemo and trying hard to take care of herself (a challenge for just about all moms), she’s taking care of her kids. Christian, at 21, has been a big help to his mom, but Justin is just 12 — it’s not easy for either of them.

That being said, as you can imagine this does not come without serious burdens: physically, mentally and financially. My hope is that we will help Julie and her family with the cost of medical bills, meals, travel expenses to treatment in Philly, mortgage payments and any other unforeseen expenses as they navigate this emotional and difficult time.

Julie is humble and proud and full of love — she’s never going to be someone who asks for help. But that doesn’t mean she and her family don’t need it.

Please dig deep — we may not be able to physically help Julie, but your monetary donation will make a huge difference in taking some stress off of her, and allowing her to keep focused on fighting and winning her battle with cancer. Your donations of any amount will be truly appreciated by Julie and her family.

Thank you for your love, kindness, and support.

We love you, Julie.
