Julie, you are not alone!

Our beloved Julie Mitchell is always the first to help others.  Those that know her, know this to be true.  Now it's her turn to be the receiver.  Julie was diagnosed with breast cancer about two months ago.  Her course of action is this:  5 months of chemotherapy  (done at Baylor Hospital in Dallas, which is about an hour from home), then surgery at M.D. Anderson in Houston, followed by a month of daily radiation treatments at M.D. Anderson. (Houston is about four hours from home.)

There is plenty of uncertainty in our world right now.  On top of that, Julie has the uncertainty of how to go about fighting cancer.  But she’s learning how, in typical Julie fashion:  with open heart and mind, as well as generous spirit.
She, with Markus by her side, as well as their young children Mae and Bennett, are taking it a minute, an hour, a day at a time. 

Their family has truly been overwhelmed with the outpouring of support.  Julie is incredibly moved by the help and love they have already received.  It makes her feel like she can conquer anything, and we know she can.  We are so grateful to those of you who have helped in so many ways.

Many people have asked how they can help, and one way is financially.  They will need assistance with expenses such as medical bills, transportation to and from appointments, accommodations for appointments, childcare, missed work, and much more over the next year.

Please know that we understand these are hard times for most people.  But, if you are in a position to give financially, every single dollar can make a difference.
