Juliet & Ramirez Family - Car Accident (Update)
Donation protected
Those of you who know Juliet & Eduardo (& baby Julian) know they are not ones to ever ask for help or assistance -- so I am asking on their behalf.
As many of you know, my beautiful & amazingly strong sister, Juliet, was in a head-on collision around noon yesterday, February 9th, 2023.
Juliet was driving into town to Marble Falls on 1431 to go pick-up Julian, her (almost three-year-old) son, from daycare when another vehicle veered into Juliet's lane & hit her head-on. To see the pictures of Juliet's vehicle in the accident is to know she is a walking miracle--but with quite a recovery ahead of her. Juliet was STAR flighted to Dell Seton in Austin where she remains for the foreseeable future.
While she is a hell of a survivor and is going to be okay & while we remain in awe & grateful of God's hand of protection over Juliet--she suffered numerous injuries including a shattered ankle, collar bone, rib, and internal injuries to her colon. She has undergone two surgeries since yesterday to repair her colon (8 inches of her small intestine was removed) --and then a second to repair her clavicle, & part of her ankle. She will need a third surgery to further repair her ankle (date TBD). She will have months of occupational therapy thereafter & unable to drive for a good while she recovers. And much to her chagrin, she will be very reliant on others to do basic daily tasks.
Juliet & Eduardo have remained upbeat & positive throughout the entire ordeal of course-- even spending precious energy reassuring hysterical family members (i.e., myself). Juliet is soldiering on despite her several injuries & she & Eduardo have said little else other than offering gratitude to family & friends for just being family & friends.
There has already been an outpouring of support from the army of friends & family who whole-heartedly love & admire the Ramirez's.
Juliet & Eduardo as well as our family want to offer our sincere thanks for the countless prayers, kind thoughts, words, & acts of kindness already shown by so many.
With the extent of Juliet's injuries & recovery & limited ability to work -- they will undoubtedly be facing some financial burden. Anything at all would be a blessing to the Ramirez family. All our love & blessings.
