Juliette Stellon's Guillain-Barre Fight

Donation protected
This is Juliette Stellon, a beautiful 3-year-old girl, who is a student at Preschool Playhouse in Bayonne, NJ.  Juliette is the daughter of Amy Vargas-Stellon (a teacher at Horace Mann School in Bayonne) and her husband, Albert.  She has a 1-year-old brother named Vincent.  Juliette was an active, happy, 3-year-old girl one day, and the next day, she was having difficulty walking.  Within a few days, she was unable to walk at all.  Her loving parents took her to the doctor where numerous tests were done.  Juliette was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre' Syndrome.

Guillain-Barre' (gee-YAHN-buh-RAY) syndrome is a rare disorder in which the body's immune system attacks the nerves.  Weakness and tingling in the extremities are usually the first symptoms.  These sensations can quickly spread, eventually paralyzing your whole body.  Most people with the condition must be hospitalized to receive treatment.  Some of the symptoms of Guillain-Barre' Syndrome include: Weakness in the legs that spreads to the upper body, severe pain, unsteady walking or an inability to walk at all, difficulty with eye or facial movement, including speaking, chewing or swallowing, rapid heart rate, low or high blood pressure and difficulty breathing.

There's no know cure for Guillain-Barre' Syndrome, but several treatments can ease symptoms and reduce the duration of the illness.

Imagine being in her parent's shoes...one day your little girl is happy, healthy, laughing and running around playing and the next day she is in pain, having difficulty walking and then cannot walk at all!  A parent's worst nightmare to say the least.  Juliette has been hospitalized twice over the past 2 months and is undergoing treatment as well as physical therapy.  She is in a lot of pain and the medications that she is taking make her tired.

Juliette's parents have done everything they can for their daughter.  Her mother,  Amy, had to take several unpaid days off to care for Juliette and will likely have to take more in the future for doctor visits, treatment and therapy.

The teachers, students, family and friends of Preschool Playhouse want to help Juliette and her family during this difficult time.  That is why we started this GoFundMe page.  If anyone would like to help the family, PLEASE make a donation.  All the money raised will go to the family to use for Juliette's medical expenses or bills.
