Julio Agosto

Hi, my name is Chauna Brooks and I am fundraising to help my brother Julio Agosto with his medical bills and expenses post heart surgery.

At approximately 9 pm on Saturday, October 29, my brother Julio Agosto was transported to the hospital in an ambulance due to severe chest pains and loss of strength causing him to lose control of his bodily functions all together. He was having severe chest pain and difficulty breathing. After many tests and blood work, the doctors took a CT scan of his chest to discover he had a tear in his heart called aortic dissection. They rushed him to UW medical center to immediately perform heart surgery to repair the tear.

According to the surgeon, Julio had an aneurism over a year ago that was misdiagnosed as a heart murmur which caused this eventual tear that led to a life threatening situation.

The surgery was successful and it’s too soon to determine if there are any residuals.

Julio is a beloved basketball coach, mentor and father who has dedicated his life to bettering our youth. He has made a tremendous impact through his leadership and dedication to not only his family but those he coached. Any support you can offer him is appreciated.
