Julius Cunanan's Memorial Kids Education Fund
Don protégé
Julius Kim Cunanan, a beloved husband, father, son, brother and cherished member of the south bay cycling community tragically passed away on Sunday, January 10th in an accident while on a long standing weekly group ride.
Julius leaves behind his wife Cai and their two sons Malaya Zacharius "Moonchie" (2) and Alon Phoenix "Ink" (1 month), along with his family and friends.
Julius was a founder of Padyak Racing Team (PRT), a local nonprofit organization dedicated to the sport of bicycle racing, where he has served as both President and Vice President. PRT has also been known as South Bay's Friendliest Bicycle Racing Team, in no small part because of Julius. He would be the first person to greet riders new and old, the first person to help riders change tubes when they had a flat, and the first person to invite, encourage and mentor new riders. He would make everyone feel welcome on rides, whether they were club members or not. Losing Julius will be very hard to get over.
We are thankful for your thoughts, prayers and all the help the family has received so far.
There is still a long road ahead for all of us who knew and loved Julius to heal from this tragedy. In preparation for this journey we are starting a memorial trust and fund for the benefit of "Moonchie" and "Ink" to help them with their future education.
Please consider donating to help ease the financial burden that Julius' family faces. Thank you for your kindness and support during this difficult time.
With broken hearts, and on behalf of the broader South Bay Cycling Community,
Padyak Racing Team
