Jumbo Shrimp’s Amputation Fund

Hello.

We adopted Jumbo Shrimp in August of 2022 from Constellation Cat Cafe, a cat rescue in East Lansing, MI.

Shrimp isn’t just a pet, he’s our best friend. Our truest companion. He has transformed our lives immensely. He has helped us through thick and thin, and now it’s our turn.

Shrimp was recently diagnosed with feline legg perthes, a very painful condition that requires surgery.

Without surgery, Shrimp would suffer with arthritis, and eventually the death of his limb.

Our vet suggested we take him in for surgery to remove his femur and replace it with scar tissue. However, there would be further complications down the road.

In order to prevent being faced with further complications, we plan on amputating Shrimp’s right hind leg.

In order to amputate his leg, we would need approximately $2,700, which is including his medications, X-rays, checkups, and surgery.

$2,700 is a lot to scrounge up for two 18 year olds who are already struggling to make ends meet, which is why we are reaching out to you for support during this difficult time. Your generous contributions will directly cover the costs of Shrimp’s veterinary care.

Shrimp has been our pillar of strength and we cannot imagine facing this without him.
