Juneteenth Celebratory Giving
Donation protected
In memory of all that have lost their lives to police brutality, in support of the rebellion taking place in Minneapolis, and in memory of Oluwatoyin Salau, John and Ian Conyers have come joined together to fundraise in support of those on the frontlines. They will be donating $1000 and invite the community to join together to match their contribution. It is their hope to raise and contribute $1000 to each organization by no later than Juneteenth to honor and celebrate the 155th year since the end of slavery. Funds will go toward Trans Sistas of Color Project and the Detroit Justice Center.
Juneteenth is an American holiday that commemorates June 19, 1865. On this day, after almost two and a half years since the implementation of the Emancipation Proclamation, enslaved African Americans were informed of their liberation from the slavery present in the former Confederate States of America.
