Juneteenth Tourist Hit By A Cab, Amputee For Life

Donation protected
Celebrating our nation's first National Juneteenth Holiday with her daughter and sister in NYC, four months later, Miesha is still fighting for her life and trying to return home to Columbus, Ohio after being run down by an NYC taxi.

The first National Juneteenth ended in a tragedy. On Monday, June 20th six people were injured when a taxi battered a bicyclist and plummeted into a group of pedestrians in Midtown Manhattan. Among the victims of this surreal crash was Miesha Wallace, a 48-year-old Ohio resident. Originally there to spend her last vacation day with her daughter and sister, Miesha was struck. Thankfully, Miesha survived the crash, but battled serious injury and had to have her left leg amputated along with 28 additional surgeries. As her body continues the fight to survive, Miesha's family is struggling to afford the extensive medical and legal bills along with trying to avoid the potential of compounding debt from varying creditors until clarity on her condition and assistance from the proper parties to preserve her ongoing financial obligations to her home and family life. We kindly ask that you take the time to help support Miesha in her recovery by donating anything you can to help cover the cost of her travel expenses, future surgeries, and rehabilitation going forward from this unfortunate incident.

We would humbly appreciate your consideration for Miesha during these harsh and challenging times. Thank you kindly.

UPDATE - It is with a heavy heart and burdened mind that I'm sending you this message... We continually ask ourselves if we did enough, but our family adviser, friends, and family are telling me we did more than enough and as much as we could have done... Unfortunately, Miesha Wallace passed away Wednesday, November 30th at 1503.
The doctors placed her into a Fentanyl-induced coma last Wednesday and took her off the Fentanyl to see how she would respond. She woke for two days and ate one meal before slipping back into a coma.
Bacteria had spread into her blood, and we feel and believe she simply was tired of fighting.
My Auntie (her sister) and I, and the nurse were present and with her in the room when she passed away. We had been in Florida for past two months sorting matters along with additional family members but flew back to NYC shortly before the Holidays to assist with arrangements and then back to Florida to continue tending to various concerns related to Miesha's affairs and requests. We wish to thank you for any continued support you may choose to commit and welcome all of your prayers this the family during this challenging period that lies ahead of us going forward. Blessings be to you all. Respectfully.
