Lundeen Family Mission to Honduras Jungle Hospital
Donation protected
We would love your prayers and support for a new adventure where God is leading our family. Max has been approved for an 11-week sabbatical from Fairview in 2020, and we are taking the family on a mission to the Jungle Hospital in Honduras! We will partner with Healing Hands Global and the Jungle Hospital to bring health, hope and healing to people in the mountains of northern Honduras. This region is home to 20,000 people, many who are living in poor rural areas with limited access to medical care.
From February 16-April 30, 2020 Max, Angie, Nora (12), Levi (9), Elsa (6) and Ezra (2) will live in an apartment at the Jungle Hospital. Angie will homeschool the kids while Max serves as a visiting medical provider at the hospital and on brigades in Rio Viejo and surrounding villages. The Jungle Hospital is run by amazing and faith-filled missionaries Dr. Martin & Wendy Williams along with RN Tabitha Hiers. Throughout the year, different teams and volunteer medical and dental providers help to staff the hospital and care for patients.
Living in the remote Honduran jungle for 11 weeks will definitely be an adventure! This will be our kids first time out of the country, their first time experiencing another culture--people speaking a different language, many living in poverty they have never seen in the US. Temps can be a tropical 100+ degrees, internet/power can be spotty, there are a variety of "jungle critters" to watch for and the nearest city/grocery store is 1.5 hours away. But the mountains are gorgeous, the people are gracious and we are excited and expectant to learn and serve together as a family.
We would love to talk with you more about this opportunity and our heart for medical missions. Our family is excited to step out in faith and see how God will use us, teach us and grow us through this experience. We are fundraising to cover our travel and living expenses for 11 weeks. You can either donate here on our Go Fund Me page (3% processing fee) or donate directly to us via Venmo Max Lundeen @JunglePA. Because we are organizing this mission on our own (apart from our church), donations are not tax-deductible but we appreciate any donation and most importantly, your prayers. Thank you for your consideration in supporting us on this faith adventure!
