Junior Olympics Here She Comes
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Karla and I'm fundraising for my grandchild Kylah! Kylah has a talent (although she hasn't realized it yet). She just turned 8 last week and has spent her Summer running track and doing quite well for herself. This past weekend she competed in Tampa for a chance to run in the Junior Olympics in Eugene, Oregon. She qualified in both the 200-meter and 400-meter (she took a very close second in both races). Now here is where the rubber meets the road (or track) - being that we found out at the last minute that she qualified, we are now looking at lodging, airfare, etc. to get to Eugene. Her athletic club will cover some of the costs, but for us to stay as a family (mom, grandmom and sister), we will need to find lodging, rent a car from Portland to drive to Eugene (most flights to Eugene are already booked), and then feed the hungry one (and allow her some free time and activities so that she isn't burnt out). Of course, being that the masses will be traveling to Eugene, a simple hotel like the Red Roof Inn is charging $500+ a night, and an AirBnB is even higher. We all want to be there to cheer Kylah on and I don't want to tell her sister, who is 9, and also Kylah's biggest cheerleader, that she can't go and cheer her sister on. All donations, big or small, count!
