Send Matt to Nationals

Hi everyone, my name is Matt McCarty, this campaign is to help send me to Nationals for Olympic Weightlifting in Salt Lake City, Utah. I'm 20 years old and live in Michigan. I am currently in college working towards being a Physical Therapist. I have been competing in weightlifting for almost a year now. In my first competition I was able to total 300 kg, which qualified me for Senior Nationals. Three months later I competed in the Kentucky State Weightlifting Championships and added an additional 10 kgs to my total.

My goals for the upcoming years are to become a National champion, as well as represent USA in the 2020 and 2024 Olympics. Nationals is one step in that direction, and will be a huge learning experience for me.

Between working as a coach, school full time and training full time, it is difficult finacially to make such a big trip like this, but its a huge opportunity for me that will not only help me grow as an athlete but as a person.
