My name is Jurni Maxfield, and I aspire to be a professional dancer. I have always had a passion for the art of dance, but it wasn't until 2022 that I dared to chase my dreams by auditioning for the esteemed Duke Ellington School of Performing Arts.
As I embark on my junior year, I find myself so fascinated with the art; I truly cherish every moment of rigorous training at my prestigious performing arts school. I am so committed to my craft that on February 17th, I took a leap of faith and journeyed to New York to audition for the Alvin Ailey Professional Division Summer Intensive for the opportunity to refine and elevate my skills.
I am elated to share that I have been granted admission into this esteemed program! I will be able to immerse myself in five weeks of intensive training in the heart of New York City to take myself one step closer to my dream career.
This will require every ounce of support that I can obtain. Your generosity will enable me to perfect my craft, preparing me for my senior year at Duke Ellington and beyond.
