Nicki's Multiple Myeloma Treatment
Donation protected
After many doctor visits complaining of extreme rib pain, my sister Nicole was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in August of 2018. The doctor in the ER that reluctantly agreed to do a scan, was as surprised as anyone at what he found. That was the beginning of what will be a very very long road for Nicole, Adam, Colton and Peyton.
Multiple Myeloma is a form of blood cancer that develops in the bone marrow. Currently there is no cure, only periods of remission. Nicole and Adam will be making many trips back and forth to Omaha where her specialist is. To date she has had multiple rounds of oral and intrevious chemo, and three bone marow biopsy's, with more to come. Nicole has been unable to return to work since her diagnosis, and it's unclear when or if she will be able to. There is so much unknown about this disease, especially in someone so young. The immediate future holds more chemo, lengthy infusions and much meditation. The expense and emotional toll that this is taking, and will take for a long time, will be great.
A tremendous thank you to those who have reached out to the family directly with a donation, as well as those who have helped out with the ongoing Meal Train and gift cards. I know that they are very thankful for all of the love and support they have been shown. Although insurance covers a large part of the cost, the remainder is sizeable due to the very high cost of procedures, and medications
At this time I am asking that you please consider any size donation that you are able to make, to help them out with medical bills and travel expenses. And please feel free to donate anonymously if you want to. Every $5 and $10 donation truly does add up.
