Let’s Get Gabe & Gisele to The World Championships

Have you ever wanted something so badly that you would do anything to achieve it?

For Gabe (18) and Gisele (14) Smith, that something is the chance to compete in the World Championships for Mounted Games.

Gabe and Gisele are two dedicated, talented young equestrian siblings with the opportunity of a lifetime to follow their dreams and represent Australia in three International Mounted Games Championships across Europe later this year.

Representing Australia comes after a lifetime of early starts, late nights, heartache and relentless training, now their dreams are about to be realized. They are currently the U/15 and U/18 Austrlaian Individual Champions.

Now we have the responsibility to raise the $42,000 necessary to get them to Europe. Although they are riding for Australia, the responsibility to pay for entry fees, travel expenses and horse expenses falls back on the athletes themselves and their families. As a primary school teacher, this is a stretch for our household budget to cover and so we are reaching out to our community to help get them there.

Gabe will be competing in the Under 18 World Team Championships in Arezzo, Italy in July, then both siblings will compete in the World Individual Challenge in La Scruderia, Italy, after which they will both also compete in the World Pairs Championships in La Bonde, France. In addition to travelling and keeping themselves fit to compete, they will also be responsible for borrowing ponies for these three competitions.
