In loving memory of Pete Zorba
We are so sad to be writing this after the loss of our incredible friend Pete. Our love, support and prayers go out to everyone, especially his wife Mel and their beautiful children Elbie-Rae and Billy-Fox.
In late 2016 Pete was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer, and the world momentarily stopped. He was given 6 months to live by doctors, based on undertaking Radio and Chemo therapy, however, our Pete was a fighter. He went full steam ahead, powered purely by love and determination and embarked on a journey of alternative therapies which saw him beat the cancer year on year. Sadly, a little over 4 years later the cancer became too much for his body, and after surgery number 4 he sadly lost his battle with this horrible disease.
Pete was a true ‘cheeky gentleman’. It was impossible not to be charmed by his charisma, warmth, wit and that undeniably beautiful smile. He was the most courageous man, many of us will ever know. Pete possessed a rare ability to make everyone around him feel special, he filled our lives with warmth, love and pure fun at all times!
Their family grew, when their beautiful daughter Elbie-Rae was born. Her soft nature echoes that of her daddy, a truly beautiful soul. A little over a year ago a real miracle happened, we welcomed little Billy-Fox to the world. 9 months earlier Pete had just finished one round of chemo, and with only a 1 week window before he began the next round, Billy-Fox was magically conceived, a real life gift from the universe. The most perfect little man, who will grow up to be just like his daddy, a true gentleman.
Pete’s passion for life, could be seen by anyone who met him. His real love and passion was music. He was one of the most talented international DJ’s the scene has ever has the pleasure of hosting. Lovingly signed to KALUKI music, he was huge part of the KALUKI family, with two of his best friends Nick and Spenny, they proceeded to make real magic, and toured the world together, he made it….a real life ROCKSTAR!
At sunset on Thursday 25th February our worlds were shattered when Pete passed. Mel and his close friend and healer Kimmy, who has supported the family throughout, were by his side guiding him safely out of this life as we know it. Many of you will remember this day – the skies we’re lit up in the brightest pinks, reds and oranges all over the country. THAT, was our Peter. The moon has never been so big, nor the stars so bright. The sun that rose the following morning was equally as impressive, that was Pete was dancing his way through the skies, shining down on all of us for one final farewell.
Pete was a proud man, filled with integrity, who cared for and supported his family so much. We would like to continue that care and support on his behalf, to ensure Mel and his 2 children Elbie-Rae and Billy-Fox are looked after. We would like to ensure that they have the means to access the best education and life they can lead, despite loosing such an integral part of it already, so soon in their lives.
We kindly ask if you will join us, to invest in their future just as Pete would have done.
We’ve created this GoFundMe page to help raise awareness and support for the Zorba family and all donations are received with love and gratitude.
We love and adore you Pete Zorba, you will live in our hearts forever as a true rockstar.
