Children's books teaching selflessness, empathy, and action
Who are Max & Tucker?
Max & Tucker are Australian Shepherd brothers who helped rescue, foster, and find a forever-home for two little abandoned puppies and on another occasion helped rescue a stranded deer. Their true stories are written up as award winning children's books with beautiful illustrations.
Max & Tucker practice Wet Nose Therapy as registered therapy dogs who visit schools, libraries, assisted living facilities, day care facilities, and other exciting locales to share their adventures. They are regular visitors at community day programs for adults with special abilities, at residential treatment programs for youth in crisis, and at memory care facilities. All visits are volunteer and all the petting is free.
Why your helping paw is needed?
Your contribution will help in two ways.
1) Defray the cost of donated books. Max & Tucker donate books to schools, libraries, day care programs, and assisted living facilities as they share their messages - "Just Act! Imagine the story you will inspire!" and "Those we rescue, really rescue us!"
2) Support the creation of the Just Act! Adventure Portal - a professional website where would-be adventurers can learn to "Just Act!" by becoming therapy dogs or story dogs themselves.
Why is this important?
We are building a community that inspires us all to lend a helping paw to those with special abilities, children, the elderly, and every Adventurer we meet. Max & Tucker, through their adventures, teach young and old alike that anyone has the power to change a life.
What are the books about?
Their first book, Lily & Lucy: An Easter Story, tells a heart-warming true story about taking action. Children learn about the unexpected and often joyful outcomes of helping a stranger, lending a paw, or even just smiling and saying hello. The message – Just Act! Imagine the story you will inspire.
Deer Oh Deer: A Max & Tucker Adventure, the second in the series, tells the tale of rescuing a stranded deer. Dedicated to wildlife rescue volunteers, it teaches selflessness, and empathy, and action. The message - Those we rescue, really rescue us.
The books are perfect for ages 7 - 10 years old but anyone who loves animals and making a difference will love these books.
Sharing is Caring
We are so grateful that you took the time to read our story. Even if you are not able to back us at this time, please consider sharing our campaign with any one who might need a doggie kiss! Sharing is sooo easy. Literally, it's like two clicks of a mouse which is way faster than two shakes of a lamb's tail. Really, Tucker timed them both - we have a mouse in the basement and Ivy the lamb lives down the street - but that's a whole 'nother story.
A great big thank you to you, the reader, for taking the time to read our story. If you made it all the way down here, message Tucker for a special treat. Treat, who said treat?!?
Be adventurous!
