Justice and Farewell for Michael Guillen
Donation protected
It is with deep sorrow and disbelief that we share the tragic news of our father's untimely and violent passing. Our father was taken from us in an unimaginable way. Due to Eric Ronald Schumeister's senseless act of violence.
Michael Guillen was a beloved father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and friend. He was a man filled with so much strength, love and dedication. For those that knew him, know that he was very stuck in his ways, but at the end of the day, he'd go to the end of the world in the name of family and togetherness.
He'd always found a way t make ends meet.
Unfortunately, along with the shock and disbelief, we are also acing unexpected costs of laying him rest. We want to give him the peaceful and respectful farewell he deserves, but funeral expenses, legal fees, and other costs are overwhelming at this difficult time.
What we Need
We are humbly asking for your support in helping us cover the following expenses:
- service and cremation costs
- legal fees as we seek justice for our father
- any remaining funds will go towards supporting his children during this difficult time.
No contribution is too big or small, and every donation will go directly towards honoring our father's life, and ensuring his body, soul, and name are put rest. If you are unable to donate, please take the time to share or fundraiser with your family, friends, and community.
Seeking Justice
Beyond laying him to rest, we are fighting to ensure justice is served. Our family is committed to seeing that those responsible for this are held accountable.Your support helps us continue pursuing legal action and cover costs associated with seeking justice.
My father was murdered in Anita neighborhood. A neighborhood where Schumeister simply did not belong. A neighborhood filled with chicanos and people who connected through class segregation and struggles. a neighborhood filled with culture. Murals, markets, gardens, old homes with generations worth of sorrow and joy. According to nearby neigbors, Schumeister was an angry person in the wrong area. This was simply an act of insanity, anger, and racism.
If you've read the news, Eric went about his evening and went home after smearing our father along the freeway wall on Contzen Ave. and Williams st.
ERIC RONALD SCHUMEISTER WAS GIVEN TWO HOURS TO COME OUT OF HIS HOME AFTER THE MURDER.
MICHAEL GUILLEN DIDN'T EVEN HAVE TWO HOURS TO FIGHT FOR HIS LIFE.
