Justice for Alex: Fight Medical Neglect
Donation protected
As many of you know Alex passed away 4/24/2024 in Spokane Wa. Alex was currently being held at a Washington State institution receiving service to change his life. Alex became very ill the beginning of April and by April 12 the staff at the facility had left him for dead. If Katie would not have scheduled the unplanned visit to see him, Alex would have died in his cell alone. Despite the effort put out by Katie for the week of the 12th the staff and medical team neglected Alex and lied to Katie about his condition because they didn’t really know. When Katie arrived for visit she was met by 2 people in supervision positions and at that time learned Alex was very ill too ill to visit and so weak he was being taken to the hospital on site. Yet no medical care was given. After repeated phone calls by Katie another 3 days pass and she is finally told he had been life flighted to Spokane. ALEX SHOULD STILL BE ALIVE! When Alex got to the Spokane hospital and Katie was also there they were told he had an infection that had gone to his blood, lungs, spine, heart, and brain. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED IF THEY WOULD HAVE CHECKED ON HIM. The medical neglect is absurd and we are asking that everyone who knew Alex and loved him help us fight for him. The medical examiner has refused to do an autopsy, that means Alex needs to be transported to Kent Washington where a private pathologist conduct the examine. The cost of this is more than Katie can come up with alone. Katie also has a lawyer on stand by who is willing to fight for accountability on Alex’s behalf. Katie’s heart is broke and only has 5 days of paid bereavement that she has already used so any extra time could put her at risk of losing everything. her main goal right now is justice for Alex and doing her best to maintain her job and their home while taking care of Alex’s 3 bonus babies. We need to hold the department of corrections accountable for his medical neglect and wrongful death. whether it be big or small or even just a prayer, this family needs all the help they can get As the case moves along. I’ll do my best to keep everybody up-to-date.
