Marshall Rancifer and Lisa Smith are advocates and community activists who work tirelessly for social justice. Through The Justice for All Coalition, they help folks who are homeless or have addiction problems. Marshall and Lisa lead outreach efforts to feed, counsel and connect unsheltered people with the services they need. They show them unconditional love and help them to stand until they are able to stand on their own.
I met Marshall and was instantly moved by his heart. Marshall needs help to best serve the unsheltered community in Atlanta. With the onset of COVID-19, so many of the soup kitchens have shut down and the food pantries are overwhelmed. The unsheltered are at a greater risk at all times, but now the risks are unfathomable. Marshall and Lisa shop, chop, cook and transport all of the food themselves. They have volunteers who help distribute and feed the people. Marshall and Lisa meet people where they are with grace. They provide safe sex kits, HIV testing, STD testing, referrals to detox programs, services for housing and rehabilitation, and help people get necessary documents- birth certificates, etc. It's amazing how they do what they do. I wanted to start this fundraising effort to help get Marshall the supplies he needs to continue his outreach.
Marshall partners with community organizations including Ujima Way, Hearts to Nourish Hope, Covenant House, Chris 180 Kids, Atlanta Harm Reduction, Recovery Consultants of Atlanta (RCA), Trans Housing of Atlanta, On Common Ground, Morehouse College School of Medicine (Street Medics), Emory University School of Medicine (Street Medics), Food Not Bombs, and others.
