Justice for Belcher and Family Support Funds

After the morning of, May16, 2016 when special agents from the FBI raided our home to serve a federal warrant, the lives of our family changed forever and our American dream became a nightmare. My name is Dr. Gregory Belcher and I’m an Orthopedic Surgeon that specializes in Complex Revision hip and knee arthroplasty surgery. I am also a Navy Veteran that served in the first Gulf War Desert Storm and the War in Iraq where I provided medical treatment (or performed complex surgeries) on wounded American servicemen and women.
After 22 years of Active Duty and Active Reserves in the Navy, in September 2011, I retired with an honorable discharge as an US Navy Captain.
I had started my private practice in 1999; my wife, who is a Family Practice Physician, started her Private Practice in 2004. Things were going well until the FBI served me with a federal warrant alleging Money Laundering and Health Care fraud with a summons to appear in federal court.
In December of 2017, the Jury determined that the criminal charges of money laundering and health care fraud were frivolous and were dismissed. However, the Jury did determine that I submitted an invoice claim to CIGNA with the wrong date. The invoice should have been submitted with the date of November 23, 2013, whereas I, unfortunately, wrote November 22, 2013 on the invoice. And for this oversight and error in my record keeping.
Unfortunately, this felony conviction has restricted my ability to perform anymore surgeries, This has made it extremely difficult to care for my family which includes my three younger children ages, 12, 13, and 15. Therefore, if I am unable to procure a legal remedy, I will have no means or financial security to care for my children, except for the goodwill donations from the general public, sympathetic to our situation. Whereas, these funds will be used to care for my three young children.
