Justice for Ben - Help bring him home to family!

Hi, my name is Lynda, and it is with the heaviest of hearts that I am fundraising for my dearest friend Ben in the greatest hope that he can be reunited with his daughter.

Little did Ben know that in October, his life would change forever; for the worse. He is being held in customs in Europe, and has been treated appallingly by staff who have robbed him of his belongings, including a large sum of cash which was used to pay routine fees for the release of packages containing valuables inherited from his late father that he was shipping home. Instead, this money was pocketed by the border staff who provided no receipt, and no explanation as to what happened to the only money he has. Ben is now being held in terrible conditions, with no hope, unless he can raise the funds required for the lawyer that he needs to fight the case. Ben has found a lawyer who is happy to take on the case and positive that not only will he be set free, but also paid the money that has been taken from him. However, the lawyer cannot proceed until he has been paid. The situation is incomprehensible as he has done nothing wrong, but is only a victim of the corrupt systems and red tape!

Ben is a very hard-working engineer, a God-fearing man who has never committed a crime in his life. He is a widower, and father of a beautiful 13 year old daughter who thinks the world of him. Ben has been working overseas for the past few years, and was so excited because he was going to retire this year in order to be with his daughter. He was also making plans to marry his American fiancée, and was over the moon about his prospects for the future, most especially being able to watch his teen daughter grow up in the arms of a loving family. A lover of the holidays, Ben was thrilled about spending this Christmas with his two girls, but because of his current situation, the only hope for the future is his freedom.

He is living in the most appalling of conditions. Food, basic essentials and medicine are only available for purchase, but since everything has been taken from him, it is very difficult. Fortunately, there is one good hearted person who will slip him a meal unnoticed, every once in a while. Most recently, Ben had contracted dengue fever, due to the swarms of mosquitoes always present inside the holding cells, and due to the kindness of the previously mentioned staff member, he was able to receive the fluids and electrolytes required to recuperate. If it had not been for him, the chance of Ben recuperating were slim. This situation is just a far cry from the life that Ben has worked so hard all his life for. Each day that goes by is detrimental to both his physical and mental health and he needs to get out soon.

Ben’s only hope of freedom is raising the necessary funds to pay the legal fees to the lawyer who can set him free. The lawyer is not only confident that Ben will be released as he has done nothing wrong, but justice will be served as he will be reunited with everything that was taken from him.

Please find it in your heart to help Ben, as nobody deserves this fate, and he needs to urgently get back to his daughter to care for her.

All funds raised will be used to pay Ben’s legal fees for his prompt release so that he can be reunited with his daughter.
