Hi all. On Monday, March 10th at around 6pm PST my (now former) roommate allegedly “ran over” my cat Boo Boo and dumped her in a local dumpster less than 1 mile away from my house. (Update: Boo Boo’s vet told us on Thursday that he admitted to kicking her against a wall) My family and I have had Boo Boo for 11 years and she is the biggest, most special part of our family. We are absolutely devastated at this news and are heartbroken for her. We noticed Boo Boo had been missing and had no luck in finding her around our neighborhood nor anywhere in our home. We didn’t find out what had truly happened until this morning 10/12 when I came across a post from a Mission Viejo Facebook group with the surveillance footage of this man dumping her in a trash can to die. She stayed in that exact spot, helpless and unable to move for 15 hours before she was found and rescued by Mission Viejo Animal Services. They rescued her just minutes before the scheduled trash truck to come by. When I came across this video, my heart immediately sank to the bottom of my stomach. I don’t have many updates on her wellbeing, although I know she underwent a surgical procedure today. We should know more and be able to see her by tomorrow. At this point we are just praying and hoping for her recovery as this is what matters most to us.

My family and I have decided to press charges and begin the legal process of eviction and of filing a restraining order against this cruel man. He was my Dad’s friend of almost 40 years, they grew up together. We took him into our home about a year and a half ago as he was financially struggling. Never in a million years did we think he could do something like this. The man pictured has since been arrested with felony charges. We are filing a restraining order and starting the legal eviction process tomorrow morning. (Update: a court order is in place for him to stay away from our home and to have no contact with me and my family members) We ask for any help with funds in this process for, most importantly, Boo Boo to recover and get the care she desperately needs to pull through this and secondly help to cover costs associated with the legal process in dealing with this matter. **All funds will go to Boo Boo’s care first, if there is anything leftover it will go towards the legal costs we have incurred and will continue to incur through this process**

UPDATE AS OF 7:30PM PST 03/15/2025

Boo Boo is doing better today. We were able to see her this morning and she was doing better than when we saw her yesterday. She still has the nasogastric tube in to deliver nutrients, this is such a good thing because she needs food to fuel this fight. She is still unable to eat on her own, we believe she is just in too much pain from the injuries she sustained to her jaw. She continues to be very receptive to our voices, pets and presence when we are with her. She is the sweetest, strongest girl and we are so proud of her for fighting so hard to survive this. She is still on lots of different medications to help ease some of her pain and stabilize her. She will continue to need more care and medications. The bill towards her care continues to rise and it will for a while probably. We are so hopeful that she will pull through this. We are eternally grateful for all of the support, love and donations we have received. Please continue to keep her in your prayers and donate/share if you are able to. #justiceforbooboo
