Justice for Captain Torres

In an effort to raise awareness on Leroy's United States Supreme Court case we are launching our own effort called Justice for Captain Torres with the hashtag #ThreeBillboardsinTexasForTrooperTorres
Currently his case sits in the hands of the United States Solicitor General who will decide to hear the case.
Leroy's case will help thousands of other Veterans waiting on justice. All funds raised are to reach the goal of 3 billboards in Texas. The One in Corpus is funded by Torres family, The 2nd location hopefully in Austin Tx next to the Capitol and the 3rd in San Antonio. The Total for these 3 billboards totals to more than $10,000 but were are grateful for any support.
On this Texas billboard, ROA is cited in support of medically retired Army Reserve Capt. Le Roy Torres, fired from the Texas Department of Public Safety, where he was a state trooper, after returning home from Iraq, his lungs crippled by toxic “burn pit” fumes. ROA wrote Texas Governor Greg Abbott, asking that he simply intervene so that Captain Torres could continue serving the people of Texas in a less physically demanding capacity and retain his dignity. Abbott refused, his cooperative state supreme court refused to hear the case; now, because a governor refused to support a veteran, the case is being considered by the U.S. Supreme Court.
This outrage, which has upended their lives, is all too common among veterans sickened by the toxicity of modern war and cast aside by those they fought for. ROA is the only national military organization that solely and exclusively supports the Reserves and National Guard, all ranks, all services. We’re honored to help out in the fight to reduce battlefield toxicity and support those afflicted by it.
