Justice for Elijah Edward Timmons III

Elijah was killed the day after Thanksgiving last year on November 24, 2023 leaving a bar and grill in Hendersonville, NC. The murderer (Terrance Burton) was never charged nor was he ever arrested! The detectives are saying Terrance killed my son out of “self defense” but Terrance initiated a fight that turned into all on Terrance's friends jumping my son. Terrance then walked away and returned with a gun in hand, aimed his gun and shot my son in the head. Terrance, then casually walked away, hopped in a waiting vehicle and fled the scene. This is all on surveillance footage. No one interfered or tried to break it up, including the club security! The police were called 10 minutes before my son was killed saying there was an altercation outside the bar and grill. There was an officer across the street but no one came!
When I arrived at the scene, I just wanted to check to see if my son had a pulse because no one was rendering aid. I was tackled, assaulted, handcuffed and arrested all with my pants half off not even a foot away from my where my son laid mortally wounded on the ground. I was then thrown in jail and handcuffed to a bench for hours. All the while, the police at the jail mistreated & disrespected me the entire time, refusing to answer why I was being arrested or detailed. They were completely insensitive and inhumane to a mother that just lost her son moments before!
We want justice for Elijah and his children so we can be able to get this monster that’s walking around our kids and family charged with premediated, first-degree murder. We want to bring light to the misconduct, systemic racism, implicit bias and corruption of the Hendersonville Police Department under the direction of Chief Blair Myhand, the Henderson County Sherriff's Department, District Attorney Andrew Murray, HPD Detective Alan Bonanno and the City of Hendersonville's City Manager, John Connet with City Attorney Angela Beeker & Mayor Barbara Volk.
We are also seeking justice for myself for being completely humiliated, dragged across the concrete, being arrested, then charged with assault on an officer and resisting arrest! We want everyone involved held accountable for the stress, anxiety, pain and suffering! We want these officers held accountable for their actions of excessive force and mistreatment, as well! We need help to immediately hire an attorney to retrieve all evidence and related information needed to shed light on this entire case and get justice for my son.
