Justice For a Marine Veteran

My name is Jessica Moon.  My family and I have created this campaign to raise money for a Crimestoppers reward. The reward is to encourage people to come forward with information that might lead to the arrest of the person who murdered my father, Gene Hammond, on Valentine’s Day.

Gene was a retired Marine Major, father of five and a grandfather. He faithfully served his country for 24 years, moving his family all over the world to do so.

On February 14th, 2017, I received the devastating news that my father had been murdered only blocks from his home in Denver.  He died from a gunshot wound. 

My family is heartbroken.  Gene was a wonderful man and caring father.  He was a United States Marine Infantry Officer before retiring to dedicate his life working for school districts in Colorado and Indiana. To support his family he left home at 4:00 am commuting 1.5 hours from Denver to Colorado Springs.

Gene positively affected many lives, including the hundreds of men and women who served under him. All of his friends, family, and colleagues loved and respected him.  He was a hardworking and loving family man. Then on Valentine’s Day, a day dedicated to love, his life was tragically taken by a senseless act of violence. 

Gene won't be able to walk his daughter down the aisle when she gets married or hold his newest grandchild.  His wife will never see him walk through the door or hear his voice again.

Please help us honor and find justice for our father.  No arrests have been made yet.  We hope this reward will be an incentive for someone to come forward with information so my father’s killer will be held accountable for taking the life of this beloved Marine veteran, father and grandfather.
