Justice for Isaiah Tucker

On July 31, 2017, Isaiah was gunned down by Oshkosh PD officer Aaron Achterberg. 11 shots were fired into the vehicle Isaiah was attempting to flee in, two of which hit him in the leg and shoulder. Initial reports were that Isaiah had tried to run the officers over, but after the body cam footage was released it was revealed that Isaiah was the only person in any danger. Isaiah continued to flee after being shot, and was found a few blocks away hiding in a shed. He died shortly after from his injuries.

Winnebago County DA reviewed the evidence of the case and found the responding officers, including Actherberg who fired 11 times, were not responsible for their actions and used appropriate force, in spite of the fact their initial reports contained inaccuracies about the "threat" they faced. Neither officer lost their job and the family received no recompense. In fact, Isaiah's family was harassed and pressured by police and their associates and family to keep quiet, and many of them moved out of the city.

The time for silence is over! United Action Oshkosh is raising funds, with cooperation with Isaiah's mother Cassandra, for legal resources to re open Isaiah's case and seek justice. We are exploring every resource available to us, but these funds will help us secure the services of a lawyer. Any money not used for the legal expense will be given to his mother. We need your help to get justice and let Oshkosh Police know that black lives matter and that police must be held accountable to the people they police!
