JUSTICE FOR ‘IWALANI
Aloha, my name is Pō’ailani, I am fundraising for my sister and her baby ‘Iwalani. ‘Iwalani is doing better now, but has to continue her seizure medications up to an entire year. We have gained a huge support system towards our case, lots of people who are wanting to help in one way or another, we feel confident we can move towards a conviction but we need the right help and my sister has had to stay home from work to care for baby because she struggles to trust anyone with her after what they’ve had to go through.
Here’s the story
#JUSTICEFORIWALANI
This is my niece ‘Iwalani, receiving brain scans at Kapi’olani at only 5 months old. She was shaken twice at her babysitter’s house and suffered bleeding in her brain(two separate bleeds for two separate occasions) and is now on seizure medications for up to an entire year.
Our family has been dealing with this quietly for too long and our case is not being pushed or heard and we are tired of it
We are blessed that we still have my niece in our lives but NO child (especially a 5 month old infant) should have to go through what she did, being shaken, suffering seizures, projectile vomiting for several days.
The response from law enforcement is that she didn’t die, so it didn’t happen.
We were told to be quiet and not talk about this, but we see no progress in our case and are only receiving blame for injuries that we did not cause and it breaks our hearts to be put in such positions.
We are hoping to raise enough funds to bring the sitter to justice and hold everyone accountable to doing the right thing, we thank everyone for wanting to help us in whatever way they can and appreciate each and every donation
We will be donating any extras that are not needed for our case to Kapi’olani hospital, for doing a phenomenal job in healing our baby ‘Iwalani and doing their best to take care of my sister and brother in law
