It is with a heavy heart that I share on Sunday January 9th we suffered the sudden loss of Jadon Shackelford, who leaves behind his beloved 1 year old son, Malakai Shackelford. As a long time family friend, I am raising money to help fund their fight for justice, and build up a trust for Jadon’s son Kai.
Jadon was the victim of a violent crime currently under investigation. This is the known timeline of events surrounding the homicide of Jadon Shackelford:
On the evening of January 8th, Jadon was at home with his family.
9:56pm - He was picked up by a friend. 10:05pm - Shots were fired at Meriwether Park.
10:11pm - The same friend took Jadon to UAMS after he was shot.
11:00pm - The friend and Jadon’s phone are both present at the police station.
12:09pm - Jadon was pronounced dead.
3:00am - Jadon’s parents got a knock on their door early on the morning of January 9th. They were informed by police that their son had been shot and killed.
At this time, the only known material witness has not cooperated with law enforcement or offered any information to solve the crime. The Shackelford family is devastated by Jadon’s unexpected passing. No one understands how this could have happened to him. They have so many questions left unanswered.
How can his friend sit by and say nothing?
Why did no one attempt to contact the family until over 5 hours had passed?
What exactly happened (in less than 10 minutes) which resulted in Jadon’s death?
What is being done to solve this crime?
We will not stop trying to help Jadon's family get answers and much-needed closure.
The Shackelford family will need support in many forms to work through this heartbreaking time. We hope to help them stabilize as they adjust to the loss of a dearly loved son, brother and father. This fund will be a crucial support to offset the unplanned, immediate expenses of his memorial and the family’s continued effort to find the truth.
