Justice for Jaleayah

On November 19, 2011, my daughter Jaleayah Davis left our home at approximately 5 p.m. She had intentions to spend the night with a friend of two or three months, Kristin Bechtold. Through the night, Jaleayah was texting friends, my other daughter Taubi, as well as myself. Jaleayah was in the company of Kristin Bechtold, Jordan Campbell, Freddie Scott, Katy Nelson, as well as Nicole Diaz. At 3:28 a.m., my daughter Taubi received a call from Jaleayah, asking her to come meet her, pick her up at a gas station on the corner of Rosemar Rd and Emerson Ave. During this call, Taubi heard her ask/tell Kristin Bechtold to "give me my keys". Taubi could also hear Kristins voice in the background. At 3:33, Jaleayah called Taubi again, changing the location to meet her to the rest stop off of the interstate and the Williamstown exit. At that point, Jaleayah indicated she was on the interstate. During this conversation, Jaleayah began crying, described as hysterical. She was cursing and calling Kristin names. Taubi asked Jaleayah what was wrong and Jaleayah responded, "I will tell you when I get there. At 3:48 a.m., the first 911 call was made from a truck driver who discovered my daughters body in the passing lane of the interstate. She was discovered naked from the waist up. One leg broken in half and was decapitated. Her clothing was laying neatly across the guardrail. Bra first, her top on top of the bra and her coat on top of both. Her vehicle was found 2/10 of a mile, north of her body, running, in gear, doors locked and headlights on. Based on evidence at the scene and her vehicle, Jaleayah was struck with her own car. Once she was struck, her head hit a guardrail post, killing her instantly. My daughters case was kept open for 16 months and suddenly closed. Through a FOIA request, I was able to obtain all of the evidence used by the Wood County Wv sheriff's department. Not only was there blood on the front of my daughters car, in the passenger side wheel well and along the bottom of the passenger door, but there was also a large bloody handprint on the inside drivers door handle and arm rest. I firmly believe that my daughters murder was covered up by the sheriff's department because several of the people with her that night have parents who are former local law enforcement officers. The last person with my daughter, to repeat my daughters last words, is the granddaughter of a former Wood County Sheriff. I believe we have enough evidence from the photos and documents obtained in the case information to request that her case is reopened and multiple prosecutions. I am setting up this account in hopes of obtaining an attorney to represent us in this long and difficult battle ahead of us. I am aware that finding someone who believes in Jaleayah's case as well as willing to go against police officers, will be difficult. I am anticipating that once we do, they will charge a substantial fee. This is why I am asking for your help
