58-year-old Jerry Chesser was a Marine Veteran who operated a crop dusting business and Red River Tavern.

Jerry passed away on Tuesday, April 22nd after being in the hospital since April 12th.

On Saturday, April 12, 2025, at approximately 2:13 AM, officers with the Alexandria Police Department responded to the 100 block of MacArthur Drive, near Red River Tavern, regarding an individual who had been battered.

The victim was Jerry Chesser. Jerry was transported to a local hospital, where he was being treated for his injuries.

On Wednesday, April 23, 2025, an autopsy was conducted, and the death was officially ruled a homicide.
