Justice For John Sanders

On May 30th 2020, Sandusky Ohio native John Sanders traveled to Cleveland, Ohio to attend a peaceful protest against police brutality. Knowing John for years, I can speak for everyone when I tell you John is one of the most calm, polite, respecting, and also passionate people I've ever met. The Cleveland Police Department didn't see that though. What the police seen was another "protesting thug", so instead of protecting and serving, they shot John in the face with a beanbag, causing facial fractures, orbital bone damage, and more importantly the loss of his left eye. The surgeon had to take skin from his ear, to replace part of his eyelid. The impact was so devastating, lead was found deep in his sinuses. The most jaw dropping part of all of this was John wasn't even apart of the protest at the time, he was walking away. John is a very quiet man with pre-existing health conditions, he wasn't going to be apart of anything that could potentially harm that, he just wanted to take pictures of everything with the camera he brought. That cost him his eye. John can now not do certain basic things regular people can do. John can't hold certain jobs now. With the help of the city of Sandusky, I wanted to put together this fundraiser to help ease some of that pain that he's going to endure for the rest of his life. This fundraiser was also made so businesses and contributors who aren't comfortable donating to personal accounts or by rules of their company aren't allowed to, can show their support.
