Justice for Jonny: Honoring His Memory

Honoring the Life of Jonathan Ares as we fight for justice

With the heaviest hearts, we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of our beloved Jonny. He was a bright light in our lives—full of laughter, love, and a spirit that touched everyone who knew him. His recent trip to Bali with his mother and radiant hot yoga family was the time of his life, it was a beautiful adventure filled with joy, and we are grateful that he experienced such happiness in his final days.

As we navigate this unimaginable and tragic loss, we are reaching out for support to help with funeral expenses to honor Jonny’s memory in a way that truly reflects the love and kindness he brought into the world. Any contribution, no matter how small, means the world.

We appreciate your love, prayers, and support during this extremely difficult time. He was a son, grandson , nephew, a friend, and a soul who will never be forgotten.

Jonny was only 13 years old. When he was walking home from school on March 27 2025, he stopped by his friends house who lives in the same neighborhood, upon arrival there were numerous unsecured and loaded automated weapons at the residence where Jonny tragically lost his life. Investigation is still on going .

Update: April 1, 2025

We are so incredibly thankful for the overwhelming love, support, and generosity we've received from friends, family, and kindhearted strangers. Your contributions and kind words have brought comfort during an unimaginable time, and we feel your love surrounding us.

As we begin to understand the full weight of what lies ahead we’ve realized that the initial goal of $20,000 falls far short of what’s truly needed but also the broader impact of this tragedy on both the Mandegari and Kazemi family

Carrying Jonny’s voice forward through every step of uncovering truth and accountability and taking the necessary steps to ensure this never happens again.

We share this openly and transparently with the hope that those who are able to give will understand the immense support required to navigate the road ahead. Whether you have donated or prayed for us, we thank you from the bottom of our heart.

Thank you for walking with us through this painful journey. We are forever grateful for your compassion and help.

With love and gratitude,
The Mandegari and Kazemi Family
