Justice for Kuro help fight & save Kuro from death

Hello my name is Tammy and what is happening to me and “Kuro” is something no one should have to endure or go through..

Aug 17, 2023 a now former sheriff deputy (with a civil paper for my son whom has not lived here for 2 years) came traipsing upon my property to my back enclosed deck attempting to gain access to the back door of my home at 7:12am in the morning and was encountered by my Cane Corso “Kuro”.
The morning of the incident animal control adhered to the Code of Virginia dog laws and did not find Kuro at fault.
Upon investigation by Local law enforcement Lt. that morning they too took no action against Kuro.
2 wks later under the authority of former sheriff Scott Jenkins (who is currently awaiting sentencing by a federal judge for criminal activity) assisted Capt. J A Curtis who obtained vicious dog charge Virginia Code 3.2-6540.1 against Kuro on Aug.31,23 wanting him euthanized. Kuro was picked up that same day at 8:30pm and has been confined to the culpeper county animal shelter since.

A month later on Sept.19,23 Capt. J A Curtis brought felony charges against me under Virginia code 3.2-6540.1 section D of vicious dog for daring to defend Kuro from euthanasia.
On April 5, 2024 we had a circuit court jury trial that ended in a hung jury (mistrial) and there has been two other jury trials set Oct.16,24 and Feb.10,25 with no agreeable outcome with the commonwealth therefore another jury trial is set for July 18,25.
Throughout Kuro being confined he has been subjected to conditions that pose a risk to his health from poorly cared for and stray dogs. He has been treated for several of these infectious illnesses.
Kuro is also showing signs from the long confinement in a kennel barely the width of his body having restricted movement in his hip and leg area as well as permanent scarring on his elbows and skin tag growths on his underbelly area.
This has been so heartbreaking watching him being subjected to such conditions that are taking a toll on his overall health and well being.
We have an upcoming motion hearing on April 3, 25 @ 1:30 (culpeper county circuit court) for Kuro to be released back to his home to await the July 18,25 jury hearing. Kuro and I have suffered so much waiting for this nightmare to end.
Will you help be Kuro’s voice and stand with us for justice?
The Code of Virginia dog laws 3.2-6540.1 section C & D is clear on how the vicious dog law is to be followed and Kuro was at the time of the act protecting his home, his offspring since his puppy was on the deck with him, his owner/owners property, himself, etc. and the law states he can not be found to be a vicious dog nor can a charge be placed against me when section D states the same.
Animal Control work diligently to enforce and follow these laws and adhered to them with this incident. No charges were filed. Yet Kuro was charged by sheriff office who are not as familiar with these laws.
We also have a Facebook page “Justice for Kuro” and a petition through change.org we are asking for supporting signatures to help bring awareness to unfortunate preventable circumstances.
The policy & procedure manual states a deputy is to use the front door to the abode (home)unless blocked with obstruction for paper service.
This is to be followed for the safety of everyone. Where is the deputy’s accountability for the not following protocol?
The innocent should not have to pay the consequences of someone else’s poor choices, especially when it’s a law enforcement officer who are expected to follow
the rules in an effort to be an example for the community with leadership for the oath taken to protect and serve the people.
Stand with us and help support Kuro to fight for the justice he and his family deserve!
Thank you for your support~
