Justice for Nyairra

Hello, my name is Shernisha Chaney, I am a single mother of 5 beautiful children, 4 of which are precious little brown girls. We currently live in a South Eastside Suburban Community about 20 miles outside of Cleveland, Ohio.

On March 19, 2022, while visiting a family friend in Garfield Heights, Ohio, my seven-year-old daughter Nyairra was shot in the face by stray bullet that came from outside the house, leaving her in critical condition. We were just advised by her Medical Team; she will lose her right eye in addition to needing a prosthetic eye. I am a FAITHFUL Woman, nothing but the GRACE of GOD spared the life of my daughter. Per the Detectives, the bullet ricocheted off a pillar on the porch slowing down its trajectory, this very thing saved her life.

As of today, she is expected to make a full recovery. My sweet girl has a long road of recovery and multiple surgeries ahead of her, BUT GOD!!! I am a very private person; however, I have come to understand that I can’t help my baby alone. I would like to request two things from my Community, I would like help in identifying the person or persons responsible for this life altering incident. There are no witnesses, no one has come forward to take responsibility for what was done to my daughter. Secondly, I am the sole provider for my 4 little girls, I have taken a leave of absence from my job to care for my baby girl. However, I need help with paying for medical expenses, rent, groceries, etc. every little bit helps.

Nyairra is such a sweet and calm spirited child, she is extremely intelligent and anyone who encounters her, will immediately fall in love with her. PLEASE HELP ME GET JUSTICE FOR MY BABY!! The incident took place on March 19, 2022, on Grand Division Avenue in Garfield Heights, Ohio. If you have any information, please contact the Garfield Heights Police Dept.
